The European Commission convened three European Citizens’ Panels in 2023, one of which discussed the topic of «virtual worlds». Each of the panels brought together up to 150 randomly selected citizens from the 27 Member States to deliberate and make recommendations ahead of the Commission’s key proposals.

La Comisión Europea convocó tres paneles europeos de ciudadanos en 2023, uno de los cuales debatió el tema de los «mundos virtuales». Cada uno de los paneles reunió hasta 150 ciudadanos seleccionados al azar de los 27 Estados miembros para deliberar y hacer recomendaciones antes de las propuestas clave de la Comisión.

The EU is committed to reducing and ultimately replacing the use of animals in research and testing. Until this goal is achieved, the European Commission is making every effort to find alternative approaches that make the use of animals in testing unnecessary.
