The European Parliament and the Court of Justice are looking to recruit Greek, Spanish, Estonian, Irish, Italian and Portuguese proofreaders/language editors (grade AST 3) within their language services in Luxembourg.
Main Tasks
If recruited, your tasks will include proofreading manuscripts, checking texts translated for consistency with the original language, preparing and checking proofs for publication in various formats and media, and preparing manuscripts in electronic format or on paper in terms of spelling, grammar and syntax. You will also check texts for their coherence, uniformity and compliance with stylistic conventions and rules, and take part in terminology work and in the quality control process for translations of documents.
Requirements
If you are an EU citizen with knowledge of at least two EU languages: perfect knowledge of Language 1 (language of the competition) and satisfactory knowledge of Language 2 (English or French) then you are the one we are looking for.
Remember that you must have completed post-secondary education attested by a diploma, followed by at least three years’ professional experience in a field directly related to the nature of the duties. Alternatively, you should have secondary education attested by a diploma giving access to post-secondary education, followed by at least six years’ professional experience – at least three of which in a field directly related to the nature of the duties.
