The European Union Agency for Fundamental Rights (FRA) is organising a selection procedure to constitute a reserve list from which to fill the vacant post of Editor (contractual agent function group FG, grade IV) in the Communications and Events unit.

Duties
The Editor will work in the Communications and Events unit under the supervision of the Head of Unit.
The role of the Editor requires a high level of collaboration and joint working within the unit and between teams across FRA.
The successful candidate will be expected to carry out the following tasks:
- Editing FRA publications, texts for the FRA website and concept papers and supporting documents for events and conferences;
- Supporting the development of the annual publication programme on the basis of communication priorities and research outputs;
- Coordination and implementation of the publication programme, including writing, commissioning, editing, revising, proofing, translation, typsetting and print;
- Identifying key messages in FRA’s work, proposing and preparing relevant communications to highlight these messages (via the website, social media, press releases etc.)
- Tailoring communications to diverse audiences (including policymakers, civil society organisations, international partners, and other relevant stakeholders); working with content owners to improve accessibility and readability of FRA’s publications to ensure maximum impact;
- Assisting in the preparation of calls for tender, implementation of contracts for services and processing payments.
Duties applicable to all staff:
- Actively work towards the achievement of FRA’s goals in accordance with the Strategic Plan;
- Perform any other work-related duties and responsibilities that may be assigned by the Head of Unit.
Requirements
General conditions
- Be a national of one of the Member States of the European Union;
- Be entitled to his or her full rights as a citizen;
- Have fulfilled any obligations imposed by the laws concerning military service;
- Meet the character requirements as to suitability for the performance of the duties involved;
- Be physically fit to perform the duties linked to the post.
Education
- Have a level of education, which corresponds to completed university studies of at least three years attested by a diploma.
Professional experience
- A minimum of 2 years full-time professional experience as an editor or in a similar role, after obtaining the relevant degree and before the closing date of the present vacancy notice.
Language skills
- Fluency in English (level C2), as English is the working language of FRA and the language of FRA publications; and
- Have a good knowledge of another language of the EU (minimum level B2).
- The levels indicated correspond to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.
Computer skills
- Candidates should have extensive practical experience with computer applications such as MS Office package or similar (mainly Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
