The European Insurance and Occupational Pensions Authority (EIOPA) is an independent advisory body to the European Parliament, the Council of the European Union and the European Commission that was established on 1 January 2011.
EIOPA’s core responsibilities are to support the stability of the financial system, transparency of markets and financial products as well as the protection of insurance policyholders, pension scheme members and their beneficiaries.
Job description
The successful candidate will lead the Communications Team consisting of 4 staff members. The Team is part of the Corporate Affairs Department. The Communications Team develops and implements EIOPA’s external and internal communications policy. The team is in close contact with and informs international media contacts, the general public and specialist audiences about EIOPA’s activities and policy decisions. To achieve this the Communications Team is responsible for professionally handling various communication tools, such as press releases, press
conferences, social media, publications, and EIOPA’s internet and intranet sites. The Team is furthermore responsible for organising high-level meetings, conferences and events. The Team advises EIOPA’s Senior Management on all communication related topics.
