The European Documentation Centre of Almeria opens the doors of Europe to the university community and the general public with the radio program “Europe with you”. The program is broadcast every week with a tour of Europe today, with the latest news, recommended readings, media library and most outstanding activities.
In the 22nd edition, we review the preferences of our users during the month of September, both in Spanish and English. After this section, the most relevant news and the recently published R + I Bulletin are addressed.

VicInAqua Project: Creating a sustainable fish farm on Lake Victoria, east Africa
Overfishing, water scarcity and pollution are just some of the environmental problems that Lake Victoria has been facing in recent decades. Located on the border between Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda, the second largest freshwater lake in the world is the main source of income for populations living around the Victoria Lake basin. However, the environmental pressures that exist on the lake have seriously compromised the livelihood of aquaculturists.
European technology allows fast and secure transfer of data from space to Earth
The European External Action Service and the European Commission organized last July a live demonstration of the European Data Relay System (EDRS), also known as ‘Spatial Data Highway. The system, based on cutting-edge European laser technology, allows you to transfer a large volume of data, particularly images, from satellites in space to Earth almost in real time.
Baltic Sea: improved long-term sustainability of stocks
The Commission proposes to increase fishing opportunities for herring in the Gulf of Riga and maintain the same levels for salmon in the Gulf of Finland. For the remaining stocks covered by the proposal, the Commission proposes to reduce fishing opportunities.

Rare disease registries for European Reference Networks
Objective: to collect information on rare diseases and optimize the quality of existing records.
H2020: Training and Education in Quantum Technologies
The objective of this program is to create a pan-European agenda for the development of a master’s degree in quantum technology that meets the present and future needs of European industry. The final result is to present a master pilot program that includes at least five EU member states or countries associated with Horizon 2020, together with a plan to reach all of Europe.
