Yesterday, 20 February, the Commissioner for Agriculture and Food, Christophe Hansen, will be in Madrid to attend a series of events and bilateral meetings with national authorities and representatives of the agricultural sector.
In the afternoon, Commissioner Hansen will take part in an event at the Spanish Ministry of Agriculture in Madrid, where he will present the newly adopted vision for agriculture and food to the relevant authorities , followed by a joint press conference with the Spanish Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, Luis Planas. The Commissioner will also hold meetings with regional authorities and representatives of the agricultural sector to discuss the proposed actions outlined in the vision presented yesterday.
Tomorrow, 21 February, the Commissioner will travel to Valencia, which was severely affected in November by flooding caused by the severe storms of the DANA. There, Commissioner Hansen will meet with institutional representatives of the Valencian Community, as well as professional organisations and agri-food cooperatives that have been working on recovery after the floods. The Commissioner will also visit citrus farms, rice fields and the protected area of l’Albufera, where he will meet with farmers from the affected areas.
