“We have achieved a joint work with the European Union dating from our foundation, working on issues of governance, national debate and fundamentally academic, so we are pioneers in Ecuador in establishing the Jean Monnet European Studies Program, which today celebrates its 20th anniversary. Our university will always be open to propose spaces for the dissemination of the relationship with the European Union,” said César Montaño Galarza, rector of the Universidad Andina Simón Bolívar.

Charles-Michel Geurts, Ambassador of the European Union in Ecuador, mentioned that “The Andean University is a key partner for the EU for different projects that promote capacity building through academic exchange, training and research programs. This relationship contributes to promote regional integration systems between the European Union and the Andean Community (CAN). Today, we thank you for opening the doors of your university to present this space.
Visitors to this exhibition will be able to learn about important milestones in the work of the European bloc and its fields of action in Ecuador, as well as the academic programs it promotes, such as: Erasmus Mundus, Horizon Europe, EU Academy and Jean Monnet Chair. Regarding the latter, the UASB Ecuador headquarters established the Jean Monnet Module and Program in 2003, which has made them pioneers in the formation of European studies in Ecuador.
