Socialization days for the “Horizon Europe” research and innovation promotion program in Ecuador

The event brought together more than 570 people both in face-to-face and virtual meetings, who received first-hand information on research opportunities, as well as best practices and tips shared so that Ecuadorian researchers can find funding facilities to enhance their projects.

For the first time in Ecuador, the Delegation of the European Union in conjunction with Senescyt, Cedia, Euraxess and the LAC NCP Network held socialization days of the Horizon Europe program in Quito (PUCE), Cuenca (University of Cuenca) and with live broadcast for the whole country.

The event brought together more than 570 people in person and virtually, who received first-hand information on research opportunities, as well as best practices and tips shared for Ecuadorian researchers to find funding facilities to enhance their projects.

The European Union in Ecuador aims to consolidate this event over time to make it an annual event and achieve even better participation in research projects with European funds, which denotes a deep knowledge among researchers about the possibilities offered by Horizon Europe.

Horizon Europe is the EU framework program for research and innovation, with a budget of EUR 95.5 billion for the period 2021-2027, one of the largest of all European programs. It is a European Union program focused on funding research and innovation projects, which aims to achieve a scientific, technological, economic and social impact of EU investments, strengthening its scientific and technological bases and promoting the competitiveness of participants.
