The successful candidate will be expected to teach, conduct research, and provide supervision for postgraduate students. In addition, the following is expected:
- A minimum of two accredited research units to be published per year.
- To engage in and provide leadership for national and international research projects including national and global collaboration.
- To procure external research funding.
Responsibilities:
- Play a leading role in academic development initiatives within the Department of Sport and Movement Studies as well as the Faculty of Health Sciences.
- Assist the Department of Sport and Movement Studies in teaching and learning as well as research and innovation.
- Provide leadership to advance the discipline of sport management, and cognate disciplines outside of the confines of the University of Johannesburg.
- Enhance scholarship within the Department of Sport and Movement Studies as well as within the Faculty of Health Sciences through the engagement of industry and relevant professional sectors.
Minimum requirements
- A Doctoral degree in Sport Management, or cognate discipline.
- A minimum of five years of lecturing experience at a tertiary institution.
- Proven track record of postgraduate supervision.
- Proven track record as an external examiner for postgraduate research.
- Proven research record of published articles in DOE accredited journals.
- Knowledge, skills and competencies in Sport Management, and cognate disciplines.
