Shenhav Cohen lab at the faculty of Biology, Technion in Israel is seeking highly motivated, excellent, hard-working, and enthusiastic students, with passion for science
The Technion has been Israel’s primary technological university for more than eight decades and the largest center of applied research. It is ranked among the leading technological universities in the world, and its researchers have won many prestigious international awards over the years, including three Nobel prizes in the last decade.
Research
The research focuses on the molecular mechanisms of protein degradation in atrophying muscle during aging, fasting, cancer, metabolic disorders (type 2 diabetes, obesity), microgravity, or motor neuron degeneration.
They use cutting edge innovative technologies in biochemistry, genetics, and proteomics, as well as bioinformatic approaches, electron microscopy, and super-resolution microscopy. The combination of these powerful tools together with the development of in vitro regimes increase our understanding of muscle architecture and homeostasis in health and disease.
