At the Center, Professor Stefan Bechtold invites applications for a Postdoc on the Economics of Privacy, IT Security & Automated Decision-making.
Research Description
The Center for Law & Economicsare is looking for an ambituous, highly qualified postdoc (economics, information systems, data science or related field) who is working on the economics of privacy, IT security and/or automated decision-making, using empirical and/or experimental methods. You will be able to pursue your own research agenda in a highly research-focused environment. At the Center for Law & Economics, you will be part of an interdisciplinary group investigating the societal implications of digitization and automated decision-making, using formal social science research methods. Beyond the Center for Law & Economics, you will interact with a team of economists, legal scholars and computer scientists from three departments at ETH Zurich focusing on Privacy & Security in Society.
Requirements
The ideal candidate will have, at the time of appointment, completed a Ph.D. in economics, information systems, data science or a related field. Interest in and/or experience with interacting with legal researchers is a plus. Applicants need graduate-level expertise in empirical and/or experimental methods.
Benefits
We offer excellent working conditions, an internationally competitive salary (paid according to ETH standards). Teaching and administrative duties are limited. We provide support for attending international conferences and workshops, and for research stays abroad. Our offices are located in downtown Zurich, and the working language is English. The initial appointment will be for two years and can be renewed. The starting date is flexible.
