M100 Young European Journalist, the City of Potsdam and Potsdam Media International e.V., with the support of the Federal Press Office, the Friedrich Naumann Foundation, and the National Endowment for Democracy, offer young journalists the opportunity to gain direct access to leading media personalities from all over Europe including non-EU countries.
The workshop taking place between 9-18 September 2019 in Potsdam and Berlin, Germany, is directed at a young generation of journalists and editors between the ages of 18 of 26 from Europe, the countries of the Eastern Partnership (Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine) and Russia. The participants will participate in workshops focusing on the theme “Reading in the Digital Age – Innovative Journalism”.
Who can apply
Young journalists between 18 and 26 years old from Europe, the countries of the Eastern Partnership (Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine) and Russia.
They should shortly present their own project in digital journalism. Make sure to explain how their idea could introduce new or develop existing innovative means of media storytelling. The narratives could be based on, but not limited to, graphic design solutions, IT solutions, user interface, social media and smartphone applications, big data analysis, interactive websites features. Be specific in the platforms that could implement their project idea.
Their short project proposal, should be in English (max. 6.000 characters, including spaces). The workshop will be held in English. The application form includes a project proposal, a CV and a letter of motivation. Only applications in English are taken into consideration. Selected participants will be invited to a Skype interview. Costs for accommodation, transportation and meals will be covered by the organisers.
