The Commission launches today the 5th edition of the Youth4Regions competition for student journalists and young journalists. Participants from EU Member States, neighbouring countries and candidate countries will be eligible to apply. Thirty-three candidates will be selected to participate in the Youth4Regions programme. The winners will meet in Brussels during the European Week of Regions and Cities to follow training courses, attend professional mentoring sessions with experienced journalists and visit EU institutions and various media delegations. Aspiring young journalists will also participate in the Megalizzi – Niedzielski Prize for Young Journalists, which will be awarded on 12 October. The application form and competition rules are available on the programme’s website until 12 July. Youth4Regions is a Commission programme that helps student journalists and young journalists to discover what the EU is doing to strengthen economic and social cohesion by reducing disparities in the level of development between EU regions. The Youth4Regions programme has supported almost 100 individuals from across Europe since its foundation in 2017.
