KU Leuven is offering a position as a doctoral researcher in auditing and corporate governance in its Faculty of Economics and Business.
Duties of the position
The appointee will be expected to conduct in-depth research on topics related to external auditing and/or corporate governance; collaborate with faculty members and other researchers on various research projects; participate in academic and departmental activities, including seminars, workshops, and (inter)national conferences; publish research findings in high-quality academic journals; assist in teaching undergraduate and/or postgraduate courses as required by the department and assist in bachelor and/or master thesis guidance at campus Brussels.
Required selection criteria
Applicants should possess a master’s degree in Business Administration, (Applied) Economic Sciences, Business Engineering or an equivalent degree with good academic standing and a successful master thesis, or master’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, IT, or a similar field, who demonstrate a strong interest in accounting and finance; great interest in scientific research and good statistical skills; proficiency in English and possess fluent writing skills; capability of critically examining scientific literature; will to present and discuss research findings in public (e.g. scientific conference, seminars) and eagerness to learn and highly motivated to follow methodological courses.
Benefits
The selected candidate will be offered full time employment for 1 year, which can be extended to a maximum period of 4 years pending positive yearly evaluations.
