Art in Tanzania and its partners work with the Tanzanian corporate and government institutions to tackle Corporate Social Responsibility issues. These topics also include actions against climate change.
Private citizens’ social responsibility is commonly well recognised and introduced in school curriculums and public advocacy programs in the Western world.
Tanzanian public does not know corporate social responsibility. Issues. As a result, corporate policies commonly don’t consider social responsibility issues seriously.
This program aims to educate the schools and the public about social responsibility and deliver the message in the schools with the help of the Tanzanian business community.
We currently work with entities such as Dar es Salaam University, TWIGA Cement, Airtel, PVC, NBC Bank, and Coca-Cola, extending the program further. The field operations include working in a tree nursery and partaking in planting operations.
- This program has a cross-cutting focus where students of different professions can attend and work together.
- Academic level team leaders are daily supervising your internship. In addition, we monitor your work with a weekly plan and report system to secure you proceed well in your study program.
- The internship outcome is learning to use and get experience to implement your education in developing country conditions with limited capacity. Also, to better understand the opportunities in a fast-growing economy.
- Work hours are 6-8 hours per day, Monday through Friday. Your program can be from 2 weeks up to 12 months.
- The program is ongoing, so that we can adjust your placement dates freely.
- Your placement is tailored to your background, experience, and interests to empower our daily work with the communities. You can also conduct the thesis and related tasks. The typical day-to-day tasks include practical fieldwork, planning, reporting, and visibility.
- We provide 2x the local minimum wage of USD 100 per month for paid internships payable when you stay a minimum of 4 weeks.
- The start and end dates are flexible and accommodate other travel arrangements in Tanzania.
- The International flights, student permits, accommodation, and meals are personal costs.
