The University of Malta is looking for external evaluators to get involved in the selection process of its annual internal research proposals, called the Research Excellence Awards.
The call will bring a pool of external experts (PoEE) in four specific scientific domains selected through an open process to ensure transparent, impartial and consistent evaluation of the applications.
We are looking for recognized experts in the domain with skills and experiences in the categories
Life Sciences / Bio-Medical Sciences
Engineering, ICT & Build Environment
Arts, Humanities & Social Sciences
The evaluators should have a demonstrated track record of academic achievements and experience in evaluations of e.g. EU funded projects (Horizon 2020). The track record involves a significant publication record (books, monographs, peer review journal articles etc) and demonstrated experience with attracting competitive funding and grant evaluations.
To this end, it is a requirement for the evaluators to submit their ORCID-ID or PUBLONS-ID as part of the application in order for the University of Malta to be able to assess the validity of information on funding, peer or grant-review, publications/works etc.
Evaluators will be reimbursed for their time and effort on the basis of the number of proposals evaluated, with each proposal corresponding to a value of €40 excluding VAT, assuming it takes approximately 1 hour to evaluate each proposal.
