8 de November de 2022

Spain will receive an additional EUR 15.8 million under REACT-EU Of this amount, the Autonomous Community of Navarre will receive 4.8 million euros to promote the vocational training of unemployed people who have difficulty finding employment. Funds will also be allocated to incentivise the recruitment of these persons and persons with disabilities and support, through workshops and professional advice, to entrepreneurs and start-ups, in particular those set up by young people.

For its part, the Autonomous Community of Extremadura will receive an additional EUR 11 million to maintain self-employment in the region and to finance incentives for hiring young people. These funds will contribute to the projects of the Dual Training Schools for Employment of Extremadura, which combine training with work experience in the social sector, and will develop new vocational training opportunities in secondary and higher education.

REACT-EU: Additional €274.9 million to boost Spanish regions

The Commission has already delivered EUR 2.5 billion to Spain under REACT-EU. In 2021, REACT-EU had already allocated EUR 40 billion to help Member States recover from the pandemic, invest in the digital and green transition and, from 2022, to welcome and integrate people fleeing the war in Ukraine. Since March 2022, the Commission has granted Member States EUR 3.5 billion of pre-financing payments under REACT-EU. The latest global package, ‘FAST-CARE’, further extends support to Member States, offering greater flexibility in cohesion policy funding while increasing pre-financing payments by an additional EUR 3.5 billion to be paid in 2022 and 2023. The deadline for submitting investments to REACT-EU grants is 31 December 2023.
