President Michel is visiting Kyiv, Ukraine to meet President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal and members of the Ukrainian Parliament to discuss EU-Ukraine cooperation in the context of Russia’s war of aggression launched in February last year.
Since the outbreak of Russia’s war on Ukraine, the EU has been firmly supporting Ukraine by providing unprecedented levels of economic, military and humanitarian support. “The EU will continue to support Ukraine for as long as it takes”, said President Michel.
The visit takes place ahead of the upcoming 24th summit between the European Union and Ukraine.

It is the third time that President Michel has visited Ukraine following the outbreak of Russia’s war of aggression, having previously visited Kyiv and Borodyanka in April 2022 and the port of Odessa in May 2022.
The EU and its member states are united in their unwavering support for Ukraine and will stand by the country for as long as it takes.
