The European University Institute (EUI) in Florence, Italy, is seeking motivated and proactive interns to support the activities of the EUI Library. The Library promotes research and academic excellence by managing a high-quality, Europe-focused interdisciplinary collection. It connects researchers with ideas in the social sciences and humanities, providing reliable, high-quality resources that support the development of new knowledge and well-founded research.
Eligibility requirements:
- Applicants must be nationals of European Union Member States or candidate countries benefiting from a pre-accession strategy. However, a limited number of nationals from non-member countries may be accepted.
- Have completed the first cycle of university studies and obtained a full degree or its equivalent before the application deadline.
- Have obtained their most recent university degree no more than three years prior to the application deadline. The three-year rule does not apply to trainees who are enrolled in further university studies at the time of applying for a traineeship at the EUI.
- Have a good knowledge of one of the EUI’s official languages and a satisfactory knowledge of another language, bearing in mind that English, French and Italian are the Institute’s main working languages.
Tasks to be performed:
Library trainees will regularly be involved in front-of-house duties such as:
- Returning borrowed materials
- Collecting materials from the shelves
- Reshelving materials
- Assisting users at the Library information desk
