Biology Centre CAS is looking for an enthusiastic postdoctoral researcher well-experienced in soil chemistry and biology who will join the research team working on successful grant proposals focused on soil organic matter turnover as affected by forest and agriculture management and climate change.
Required selection criteria
- advanced skills in analytical chemistry and experience with analytical instruments (GC-MS, HPLC, UV/VIS spectrophotometer)
- fluency in spoken and written English (at least intermediate, advanced preferred)
- ability to work independently
- international experience
Duties
The researcher will be responsible for analyses of soil organic matter decomposition and stabilization and will perform state-of-the-art chemical analytical methods for quantification of compounds of plant origin (e.g. pyrogenic organic matter, neutral sugars, glomalin, organic acids). The researcher will also be responsible for data analysis and manuscript writing and publication.
