INEGI – Institute of Science and Innovation in Mechanical Engineering and Industrial Engineering announces an open call for a PhD student in the scope of the project: PRODUTECH R3 – Mobilizing Agenda of the Production Technologies Sector for Reindustrialization

Work plan: Artificial Intelligence Algorithms for Processing Data Generated in Production and Automation Systems.

Job functions
Develop, implement, and test computational algorithms for classification, clustering, anomaly detection, link prediction, dynamic sampling, or other approaches to structure and process large amounts of data from production and automation systems, aiming to detect non-compliance, schedule predictive maintenance interventions, improve the environmental impact of systems, optimize energy consumption, minimize raw material waste, and maximize productivity and efficiency.

Requirements

• PhD student in Mechanical Engineering.
• Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.

The conditions for evaluating candidates are:

• • Experience in the specified area;
  • Experience in previous projects related to the topic;
  • Knowledge of programming languages such as Python, Matlab, Java, and databases;
  • Strong knowledge of Automation;
  • Analytical and critical thinking skills;
  • Excellent communication skills;
  • Teamwork and individual productivity;
  • Proficiency in Portuguese and English.

Benefits

• The scholarship amount corresponds to €1309.64.
