In 2022, 65% of EUcitizens watched TV or watched videos online.
In 24 out of 27 EU countries, more than half of 16-74 year olds used the internet to watch TV or stream videos. Finland had the highest percentage at 93%, followed by the Netherlands (90%) and Denmark (89%).
At the other extreme, 34% of Romanians watch TV or video online, 40% of Bulgarians and almost 50% of Slovaks.
Streaming is more popular among young people
In 2022, streaming habits revealed a generation gap in the EU. Online streaming is especially popular among young people: 86% of 16-24 year olds and 81% of 25-34 year olds use the internet to watch TV or stream videos.

Conversely, as age increases, the number of people using online streaming decreases. Among 55-64 year olds, 52% used the Internet for streaming, while only 33% of 65-74 year olds did the same.
