The European institutions are looking for translators (grade AD 5) for for Danish (DA), Greek (EL), English (EN), Spanish (ES), French (FR), Italian (IT), Maltese (MT) and Dutch (NL).This notice relates to eight competitions and candidates may apply for only one of them.
The main role of translators is to produce high-quality translations and provide language services that help the institution, body, office or agency to fulfil its mission. Their tasks may include translating from at least two source languages into the target language, revising translations, editing, dealing with linguistic quality issues, researching terminology, assisting with training activities and contributing to the development of IT tools. The often complex texts usually cover political, legal, economic, financial, scientific and technical subjects related to the activities of the European Union. Tasks may also include localisation of communication material or subtitling. These tasks require extensive use of specialised IT tools.
To apply, you must fulfil the following conditions:
- You must be a citizen of the EU and enjoy full rights as a citizen.
- You must have completed at least three years of university studies, attested by a degree obtained by 10 April 2025 at the latest. No professional experience is required.
- Knowledge of at least three of the 24 official EU languages.
