The Delegation of the European Union in Mexico held an event to announce its cooperation priorities with Mexico for the period 2021-2027. Accompanied by representatives of government agencies and civil associations, the Ambassador of the European Union (EU) in Mexico, Gautier Mignot, explained the dynamics of the EU, its foreign policy and cooperation, framed in the #GlobalGateway strategy.
This strategy addresses the most urgent global issues such as democracy and governance, climate change, social cohesion, public health, education and other issues linked to the Sustainable Development Goals. To meet these goals, the EU is determined to strengthen relations with its partners and support the changes that are needed.
Ambassador Mignot stressed that “working together with Mexico is central. The EU is Mexico’s third largest trading partner. Our Global Agreement allows us to strengthen the strategic relationship, strengthen cooperation opportunities and improve political and commercial exchange, based on common values such as sustainable development, equity, peaceful conflict resolution and the promotion of employment based on democratic governance and human rights.”
