On 30 April 2022, the Commission received Spain’s second payment request under the Recovery and Resilience Mechanism (RRM), for an amount of EUR 12 billion of financial support (net of pre-financing).
The overall recovery and resilience plan for Spain amounts to €69.5 billion in grants. The RRF payments are results-based and depend on Spain implementing the investments and reforms foreseen in its Recovery and Resilience Plan. Spain’s second payment request addresses the 40 milestones and targets set out in the Council’s implementing decision, covering a range of reforms and investments in the areas of green and just transition, labour market, pensions, regulated professions, digital connectivity and research.
The areas covered are health, education, support for vulnerable groups, entrepreneurship and micro-enterprises, prevention of tax fraud and green taxation, as well as efficient and sustainable public spending.
