ACES Europe considers in its decision that the Andalusian community is a good example of sport for everyone as an instrument of health, integration, education and respect.
The entity ACES Europe has designated Andalusia as European Region of Sport for the year 2021, after evaluating that the Andalusian community “is a good example of sport for all as an instrument of health, integration, education and respect”, main objectives of this European organism.
Gian Francesco Lupattelli, president of ACES Europe, has sent a joint letter to the president of the Andalusian Government, Juanma Moreno, and the Minister of Education and Sport, Javier Imbroda, in which he expresses the reasons that have prevailed in the designation, as “an exemplary sports policy, facilities, programs and activities.
Andalusia’s privileged geographical location makes the region an ideal place to practice a wide variety of sports, from kitesurfing in Tarifa to winter sports in the Sierra Nevada, including events that take place throughout the year, or the large number of golf courses scattered throughout the territory, all of which make the Andalusian community a top-level sports tourism destination.
ACES Europe is a non-profit association based in Brussels, which each year designates the World Capital, European Capital, Region, City, Island, Community and Sports City recognitions. The allocation of these awards is made in accordance with the principles of responsibility and ethics, taking into account that sport is a factor of aggregation of society, improvement in quality of life, psychophysical welfare and full integration within social classes in the community.
