The department of electrical and computer engineering of the university of Cyprus is offering a position as a special scientist at Foss Research Center for Sustainable Energy.

Duties of the position

The appointee will be expected to develop standardized measurement protocols and new measurement methods for such new PV technologies; conduct different type of measurements on perovskite-based PV devices including performance measurements (both, indoor and outdoors), electroluminescence/photoluminescence measurements, thermography, and others; develop appropriate test setups; contribute to European and national research projects through drafting technical reports and supporting the write-up of research proposals and disseminate in conferences and research publications.

Required selection criteria

Applicants should possess a Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Mechanical Engineering, or related fields with a grade of at least a 2.1 class or equivalent. Hands-on experience in the lab particularly in the fields of material/device characterization and photovoltaics as well as past experience in data analysis, forecasting tools, and programming skills would be considered a strong advantage.

Benefits

The selected candidate will be offered a contract for 12 months with the possibility of renewal and a monthly gross salary for full-time employement in the range of €1,400 to €2,436.90 depending on the candidate’s experience, qualifications, and specific duties.
