Applications are invited for a Research Support Officer (RSO) to carry out duties in relation to the CACTUS project funded by the Malta Council for Science and Technology – FUSION R&I: Research Excellence Programme 2023 and in which the University of Malta is a partner.

Duties of the position

The appointee will be expected to understand the state of the art in the field, as well as existing prototypes developed for the project so far; carry out algorithmic development on different aspects of the project, including eye gaze data acquisition/processing, cursor-mapping and web content re-rendering, with an emphasis on robustness and generalizability, along with other tasks specified in the various work packages; build integrations, as necessary, with commercial and experimental assistive technologies, including eye trackers and adaptive switches; coordinate and conduct regular co-designing and evaluation interventions with target users, including data collection, analysis and reporting; contribute to publications and/or proposals; participate in public engagement events and other work as may be requested by the principal investigator.

Required selection criteria

Applicants should possess a Master’s degree in an ICT-related area and proficiency in computational thinking as well as programming, with a strong sense of human-centric system design.

Benefits 

The selected candidate will be offered an initial remuneration per annum (inclusive of any cost-of-living adjustment) of €28,829.
