The Department of Biochemistry & Molecular Biology at the University of British Columbia offers a position as a research associate.
Duties of the position
The appointee will be expected to perform on expression and purification of ion channels; test several expression hosts, and optimize their reconstitution in lipid nanodiscs and use these for characterization via electron microscopy and to test proteinprotein interactions and attend laboratory meetings and attend departmental seminars.
Required selection criteria
Applicants should possess a Ph.D in the field of biochemistry and molecular biology or a related life sciences field; previous years’ experience as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow; proven ability to manage several projects; excellent communication skills including oral presentation at lab meetings and international conferences; ability to work in a fast-paced and demanding team environment and the drive and enthusiasm to lead and work as a member of a team.
Benefits
The selected candidate will be offered a salary of $70,000 per year
