The RegioStars Awards, initiated by the European Commission, seeks to recognize exemplary regional development practices and showcase innovative projects that can inspire other regions.
Categories
REGIOSTARS are awarded to projects on these thematic categories:
- A COMPETITIVE AND SMART EUROPE
- A GREEN EUROPE
- A CONNECTED EUROPE
- A SOCIAL AND INCLUSIVE EUROPE
- A EUROPE CLOSER TO THE CITIZENS
Eligibility
- Projects funded by European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) (including Interreg), Cohesion Fund (CF), European Social Fund (ESF) and European Social Fund +, Just Transition Fund, and any Interreg strand.
- Both the 2014-2020 and 2021-2027 period.
- A maximum of five applications per programme can be submitted.
Finalists will participate in a selection round during the European Week of Regions and Cities in Brussels. Winners will be revealed at the REGIOSTARS ceremony during the same event on 9 October 2024. A local communication campaign, carried out in partnership with DG REGIO, will promote the awarded activities in the region.
