The ECML offers work placements,generally lasting six months, twice a year. Depending on their interests, applicants can choose the main area in which they would like to work: events and meetings organisation (Programme), documentation and resources (DRC), the Centre’s website (Website) and finance and general administration (Administration). The internships are aimed atrecent graduates.They must reside or study in one of the ECML’s member states.
The European Centre for Modern Languages (ECML) selects interns twice a year for a six-month paid training period.
The main role of the ECML, a Council of Europe body, is to ensure the general implementation of language policies and to promote innovative approaches to the learning and teaching of modern languages.
Four areas of specialisation are offered, corresponding to four different types of placement:
– Website specialisation
– Programmes and logistics specialisation
– Documentation specialisation
– Finance and general administration specialisation
Who can apply?
- Citizens or residents of one of theMember States.
- Hold a bachelor’s degree (or equivalent).
- It is advantageous to have a good command of at least one of the Council of Europe’s working languages (English or French), as knowledge of both can make a difference when it comes to being selected.
Conditions
A monthly subsistence allowance of €765 is provided.
Approximately €20 is deducted from students’ grants each month to cover insurance costs during their stay.
Deadlines
– 30 June (for the October–March period);
– 31 December (for the April–September period).
