The European Labour Authority (ELA) is a decentralised agency of the European Union, established in 2019 and based in Bratislava (Slovakia). The ELA’s aim is to help ensure that EU rules on labour mobility and social security coordination are applied fairly, simply and effectively, and to make it easier for citizens and businesses to reap the benefits of the internal market.
The Authority is organising a selection process for the 2026/2027 traineeship programme. The traineeships will take place in Bratislava and one in Brussels. They will last for 12 months and will start in October.

Requirements:
- Nationality: be a citizen of one of the Member States of the European Union (27), the EEA and EFTA States (Iceland, Liechtenstein, Switzerland and Norway), the countries that are candidates for EU membership (Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Georgia, North Macedonia, Moldova, Montenegro, Serbia, Turkey and Ukraine) or a potential candidate country (Kosovo);
- University qualification: candidates must have completed the first cycle of a higher education course (i.e. university education) and obtained a full degree or its equivalent by the application deadline. In the case of ongoing postgraduate studies, an official statement from the relevant university or institute must be submitted.
- Languages: To ensure that fellows can make the most of their placements and are able to follow meetings and perform their duties effectively, applicants from European Union Member States must have a very good knowledge of at least two official languages of the European Union, one of which must be English, the official working language of the ELA.
Benefits:
- Fellows will receive a monthly allowance of €1,538.
