Offer description

  • Full-time 12 -24-month fixed-term position
  • Postdoctoral Research Fellow (Level B or Level C) in the Imaging and Phenotyping Laboratory Located at the Charles Perkins Centre on the Camperdown Campus
  • Base salary starting from $ 113, 184 to $159, 867 plus 17% superannuation

Responsibilities

  • Work across projects in a fast-paced and technically demanding imaging and phenotyping lab
  • code across multiple languages. You will need to have familiarity with database architecture including SQL, be competent in statistics and to be able to apply AI/ machine learning methods
  • work on projects which all share a common data architecture, and combine imaging with other types of data including genetics, clinical data, other forms of “omics” (metabolomics, proteomics etc), and any other available “phenotype” information
  • contribute to successful applications for competitive research grants and/ or funding
  • contribute to research collaborations facilitating knowledge or technology transfer
  • bring and maintain a research profile that meets University expectations and standards – including publication of peer-reviewed journal articles and producing conference papers.

Candidates should have all or most of the following

  • Have a PhD in an academic field relevant to the discipline -preferable background in scientific medical research, engineering, or computer science
  • a developing research profile evidenced by original, high-quality and independent research in the discipline or area of expertise
  • experience and expertise in data analysis and statistics
  • experience in assisting with student supervision including supervision of honours students and potentially the co-supervision of PhD students
  • high levels of motivation and the capacity for independent work
  • experience in supervising or mentoring others and/or coordinating team activities
  • demonstrated capacity to communicate effectively across a range of media and forum
  • expertise in computer programming and image analysis
