Europol supports EU Member States in preventing and combating all forms of serious international and organized crime, cybercrime and terrorism.
The aim of this internship project announcement is to establish a list of successful candidates for various teams in the Strategy and External Affairs Unit, Institutional and Legal Affairs Department within the Governance Directorate and the Corporate Affairs Bureau of Europol.
There are 4 available internship projects where the selected applicant(s) will join the internship project(s) for a minimum period of 6 months and a maximum period of 12 months, including any possibility of extension based on the performance of the intern, budget availability and the interest of the service, with a work schedule of 40 hours a week.
The internship will take place at the Europol premises in The Hague, The Netherlands. Based on the profile of the successful candidates, the intern will be allocated to one of the teams listed below:
- Office of the Executive Director (CAB-01): The internship project focuses on supporting the Office of the Executive Director in the Corporate Affairs Bureau (CAB) in activities linked to International Security, Policy Research and Project Support.
- EU Affairs Team (G2-11): The internship project focusses on providing support to the EU Affairs team in the Strategy and External Relations Unit of Europol.
- Stakeholders Management & Outreach Team (G2-12): The internship project focuses on supporting the Stakeholders Management & Outreach team in in the Strategy and External Relations Unit of Europol with the management of its external relations portfolio.
- Governance Directorate Management Office (GDMO): The internship project focuses on supporting the GDMO by providing administrative and organisational assistance, including the preparation of internal meeting agendas, briefings, and background notes, as well as taking minutes during meetings and contributing to the organisation of official visits.
Requirements
- Be a national of a Member State of the European Union;
- Have reached the age of majority in their country of origin;
- Have a level of education which corresponds to completed university studies or vocational training relevant for the tasks of Europol. Only diplomas issued by EU Member State authorities and diplomas recognised as equivalent by the relevant EU Member State bodies are accepted. If the main studies took place outside the European Union or at a non-EU establishment located within the European Union the candidate’s qualification (hereinafter “non-EU diploma”), must have been recognised by a body delegated officially for the purpose by one of the European Union Member States (such as a national Ministry of Education);
- Have very good knowledge of English, which is Europol’s main language of internal communication, and a satisfactory knowledge (corresponding at least to B1 level of the Common European framework of reference for the level of languages) of another language of the European Union.
- Not have already for more than six weeks: Benefited from any kind of internship (formal or informal, paid or unpaid) within a European institution, agency or body (including Europol), or had any kind of employment within a European institution, agency or body (including Europol).
Benefits
During the period of internship, interns currently receive a MONTHLY MAINTENANCE GRANT of 1.602 EUR, serving the purpose to cover the costs of living in The Netherlands.
