Youth4Regions is the European Commission’s programme that helps journalism students and young journalists find out what the EU is doing in their region.
It offers the opportunity to receive training in journalism and EU Cohesion Policy, to be mentored by established journalists from your country, and to work alongside renowned journalists during EU Regions Week.
In addition, selected participants will also have the opportunity to visit the headquarters of media organisations specialising in EU affairs and the EU institutions, as well as to take part as journalists in the European Commission’s press trips to Member States (all expenses will be covered by the European Commission).

- The chance to be shortlisted for theMegalizzi-Niedzielski Award
- The chance to become a Cohesion Correspondent 2027, covering EU policy on the ground during a two-week all-expenses-paid fact-finding mission.
Requirements
- be a citizen of an EU Member State or an EU neighbouring country
- be aged between 18 and 30
- Demonstrate a genuine interest in journalism through studies and/or work experience, or be a recent journalism graduate (up to 2 years after graduation) with up to 2 years’ experience in journalism.
- You must not have participated in previous editions of the Youth4Regions Programme.
Benefits
Selected candidates will be invited to take part in the Youth4Regions programme during EU Regions Week in Brussels, Belgium, in October 2026. The organisers will cover travel and accommodation costs.
