The EUinMyRegion Media Trips programme is aimed at local and regional journalists and content creators across the European Union. Journalists who complete the programme will gain a better understanding of EU policies, particularly Cohesion Policy, and will be able to connect with other journalists from EU countries and regions.
How does it work?
The programme takes place in person and includes a two-day trip to Brussels, featuring sessions on policies relating to:
- EU institutions, structure and procedures
- EU Cohesion Policy: how the EU invests in regions and cities across Europe.
- Current EU issues
- How the EU deals with fraud and mismanagement of funds.
- EU funding opportunities
- Data tools for journalists
- Meetings with Commission experts in each country.
- Visits to the European Commission, the European Parliament and the Council of the European Union.
Who can apply?
- Journalists from all EU Member States (around 30 journalists are expected to take part in each study trip).
Benefits:
- The European Commission will cover the travel, accommodation and subsistence costs of the selected journalists.
