DiscoverEU is an Erasmus initiative that offers 18-year-olds the opportunity to travel around Europe, discover its diversity and learn about its cultural heritage and history.
Requirements:
- You must have been born between 1 January and 31 December 2008.
- Be a citizen or legal resident of the EU, third countries associated with the Erasmus programme: Iceland, Liechtenstein, North Macedonia, Norway, Serbia and Türkiye, or Overseas Countries and Territories (OCTs) associated with the European Union: Aruba, Bonaire, Curaçao, French Polynesia, the French Southern and Antarctic Territories, Greenland, New Caledonia, Saba, Saint Barthélemy, Sint Eustatius, Sint Maarten, Saint Pierre and Miquelon, Wallis and Futuna;
- Complete the application and questionnaire online.
Benefits:
Successful candidates will receive:
- A travel pass to travel around Europe, mainly by train.
- A DiscoverEU card offering discounts on accommodation, cultural activities, transport and other activities.
- Access to an app to help plan their trip.
You can travel on your own or with up to four friends who also meet the eligibility criteria.
People with disabilities or health conditions that make travelling difficult may receive specific support.
How to apply:
- Create an account on the European Youth Portal.
- Complete a short questionnaire.
- Plan your trip to last between 1 and 30 days, with a maximum of 7 days by train, between 1 March 2027 and 31 May 2028.
- Travel to at least one foreign country.
- Share your experience as a DiscoverEU ambassador.
Please note that if you have a disability or health condition that makes travelling difficult, you will receive assistance and support to help you take part in the activity.
