Assistant Professor in Food, Nutrition and Human Health in Hong Kong

Duties of the position

The appointee will be expected to provide leadership in all aspects of academic activities, including research, teaching and service in the Department; provide leadership in promoting research collaboration, securing external research grants, improving research quality and publication outputs; facilitate the Department to gain and increase visibility and international/industrial connections; teach and contribute to curriculum development at undergraduate and postgraduate levels; engage in the supervision of research students of the Department, such as MPhil and PhD students; carry out academic and administrative duties as required and perform any other duties as assigned by the Head of Department or his/her delegates.

Required selection criteria

Applicants should possess a doctoral degree in Food, Nutrition and Human Health or a related discipline; substantial years of relevant experience in research and university teaching in the discipline of Food, Nutrition and Human Health; prove track records in teaching and research; demonstrate excellence in establishing significant externally funded research programmes; considerable experience in academic programme planning, management and curriculum development; demonstrate academic management and leadership capabilities. They should be open to the use of e-learning and blended learning strategies in teaching and scholarship.
