The subject of health psychology offers students the opportunity to gain a comprehensive overview of psychological, biological and social factors influencing health and illness. Concepts for the modification of risk behavior and health promotion are taught both in terms of their scientific foundation and their practical implementation. The maintenance of health is addressed as well as aspects of coping with chronic illnesses.
Duties of the position
- Teaching 8 semester hours per week, including courses on interviewing and communication skills in the Bachelor’s degree program
- Collaboration in research in the field of Ambulatory Assessment to capture health behavior and processes of emotion/stress regulation in daily life as well as advanced data analysis and modeling of Intensive Longitudinal Data
- Presentation of own research results at conferences and workshops
- Supervision of seminar and final theses and assistance with examinations
Required selection criteria
In addition to the general requirements according to public services law, applicants must meet the recruitment requirements stipulated in § 57 of the Hochschulgesetz of Rhineland-Palatinate.
- A successfully completed scientific university degree in in the field of psychology
- A doctorate in a field relevant to the position
- Post-graduation full-time work experience of at least 2.5 years
- Previous experience in teaching and supervising students; including the supervision of final theses (B.Sc., M.Sc.)
- Previous experience in the implementation of courses on interviewing and communication skills is an advantage
- Previous experience in the field of Ambulatory Assessment / Ecological Momentary Assessment and analytical strategies for modeling Intensive Longitudinal Data advantageous
- Interest in research in the research areas of the JGU Health Psychology Lab
- Very good knowledge of German and English
