The Court of Auditors organises paid or unpaid traineeships for a maximum period of 5 months. This organisation is responsible for auditing the EU institutions and anyone receiving EU funds.
Job Duties
You will be assigned a trainee supervisor who will help you integrate into a team and supervise your workload. From the outset, you will support a team of professional auditors as they analyse the impact of EU policies, suggest improvements or detect financial irregularities.
You may even be asked to travel with your team to carry out audit assignments in another EU country, giving you the opportunity to see first-hand how EU auditors work on the ground. In non-audit departments, you will be embedded in one of our ongoing projects and work alongside the project teams under the supervision of the project manager or an experienced team member.
Required selection criteria
- Only nationals of Member States are eligible to apply;
- applicants must have a degree; they must have completed at least four semesters of their studies in a subject of interest to the Council.
- Applicants must not have completed a traineeship in another EU institution.
- applicants must have a very good knowledge of at least one official EU language and a satisfactory knowledge of at least a second official EU language.
- Desire to acquire practical experience in relation to one of the activities of the Board of Auditors.

Application deadline There is no deadline, applications can be submitted all year round. As funds are limited, the number of traineeships awarded each year is small. But it is recommended to apply before 30/11/2024.
