Technologist Position in Mass Spectrometry in Austria

Offer Description

They are seeking an enthusiastic and energetic candidate for a Technical Assistant in Mass Spectrometry position to join our dynamic Proteomics Team at the Molecular Discovery Platform of CeMM. Interested candidates should have a background in analytical sciences or life sciences.

Requirements

  • Degree in analytical sciences or life sciences (B.Sc., M.Sc., Dipl.-Ing.)
  • 2-3 years of experience in LC-MS based analytical techniques
  • Very good command of English
  • Good computer skills
  • Basic understanding of protein chemistry and/or biochemistry are an advantage
  • Additional software skills are of advantage
  • High accuracy and reliability
  • Team player
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Organizational talent

Tasks and responsibilities

  • Operation, maintenance and advanced troubleshooting of LC-MS instrumentation
  • Creation of SOPs for the Molecular Discovery Platform
  • Teaching SOPs to new members of the Proteomics team
  • Data processing, analysis, and reporting
  • Maintenance of laboratory supply inventory
  • Coordination and handling of analytical projects with internal and external collaborators
  • Communication with collaborators to advice on appropriate methodologies
  • Representation of the Molecular Discovery Platform internally and externally (seminars, conferences)
  • Contribute to the preparation of grant reports and scientific publications
  • Support to the platform head for platform management tasks (e.g. project management, billing)
