The University of Southampton is one of the UK’s leading research Universities, and they are offering a position as a research fellow in time-resolved photoelectron spectroscopy. The project will utilise UV and IR probes of chemical dynamics in their lab in Southampton and XUV probes through collaboration with the Artemis Facility in the UK and the ELI-Beamlines facility in Czechia.
Duties of the position
The appointee will be expected to be responsible for leading advanced photoelectron spectroscopy experiment as part of a collaborative team and coordinate the analysis of the data and work with our theoretical collaborators (Adam Kirrander, Oxford, Zdenek Masin, Prague) on the interpretation.
Required selection criteria
Applicants should possess a a PhD (or within six months of completion) or equivalent professional qualifications and experience in Physical Chemistry or Chemical Physics and a demonstrable understanding and knowledge of ultrafast laser technology and spectroscopy.
Benefits
