PRIMA aims to promote research and innovation capacities and to develop knowledge and innovative solutions to improve the efficiency, safety, security and sustainability of agri-food systems and integrated water supply and management in the Mediterranean region.
The program, with a duration of ten years and seven calls (2018-2024), will receive 220 million euros from H2020 (social challenges 2 and 5 and LEIT-NMBP) and 274 million euros provided by the 19 countries that make up the association, for the implementation of research and innovation projects, in three priority thematic areas defined in its Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda (SRIA); water management, agricultural systems and the sustainable agrifood chain, as well as cross-cutting issues to them.
11 EU countries participate in PRIMA (Germany, Cyprus, Croatia, Slovenia, Spain, France, Greece, Italy, Luxembourg, Malta and Portugal) and 8 from the southern Mediterranean (Algeria, Egypt, Israel, Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco, Tunisia and Turkey).
Expected deadline
- Stage 1 – deadline stage 1: 1/04/2020. Deadline stage 2: 2/09/2020.
- Stage 2 – deadline stage 1: 15/04/2020. Deadline stage 2: 16/09/2020.
