Applications are invited for appointment as Post-doctoral Fellow in the Department of Chemistry (Ref.:526150), to commence as soon as possible for one year, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and funding availability.

Duties of the position

The appointee will be expected to serve as the laboratory manager and manage the daily operations of the research laboratories of a chair professor. This includes ordering solvents, chemicals, and consumables, as well as taking care of the research instruments in the research group. The appointee will also be required to perform any other duties as assigned.  He/she may be required to work outside normal office hours and on weekends.

Required selection criteria

Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree in Chemistry or equivalent with a strong background in organic and/or organometallic chemistry (broadly defined).  They should have a good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua), good organizational and interpersonal skills, good time management, and an appropriate level of IT skills (knowledge in graphic design is preferred).  They should also have a strong sense of responsibility, the ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks efficiently, be attentive to details, and able to work independently as well as in a team.
