The EP Petitions Committee delegation, led by its chair Bogdan Rzońca (ECR, Poland), will begin its visit on 26 May in Barbate (Cádiz), where it will meet with petitioners who raised the issue with the committee and the families of the two civil guards killed during an operation to stop a drug boat on 9 February 2024.
Today, Monday 26 May at 18.00, the President of the European Parliament delegation, Bogdan Rzońca, and the Mayor of Barbate, Miguel Molina Chamorro, will make statements to the press at the Barbate Town Hall.
The following day, in Algeciras (Cadiz), MEPs will meet with members of the security forces, as well as institutional and operational leaders involved in the fight against organised crime and drug trafficking in the region and beyond. They will also visit port facilities to assess the operational capacity of the authorities in charge of coastal surveillance.
On Tuesday 27 May at 9.00 a.m., the President of the European Parliament delegation, Bogdan Rzońca, and the Mayor of Algeciras, José Ignacio Landaluce, will make statements to the press at the Algeciras Town Hall.
The agenda will conclude on 28 May in Seville, where they will hold talks with regional and local government representatives.
On Wednesday 28 May at 2.15 p.m., the President of the European Parliament delegation, Bogdan Rzońca, will make statements to the press about the visit at the Interior Secretariat of the Andalusian Regional Government (Calle Inca Garcilaso, 1. Edificio Expo. Sevilla).
