The European Commission awarded more than 390 million eurosto135 new projects across Europe under the LIFE Programme for the Environment and Climate Action. The amount allocated represents more than half of the total investment required for these projects, which stands at 579 million euros. The remaining funding comes from national, regional and local governments, public-private partnerships, businesses, project partners and civil society organisations.
LIFE projects play an important role in the EU’s transition to a clean, circular and resilient economy. They help to improve preparedness and resilience to extreme weather events and contribute to the EU’s goal of achieving climate neutrality by 2050.
This investment will have a lasting impact on our environment, our economy, our industry and the well-being of all Europeans.
