Duties of the position
This is a professional training and development role and the training and development relevant to this position will be completed within the period of the contract. Post Doctoral Researchers appointed will be expected to complete the Researcher Career Development Programme.
Required selection criteria
- Ability to contribute to student supervision.
- Experience in teaching at third level.
- Ability to travel freely within Europe.
- A doctoral degree (level 10 NFQ) in materials science/materials engineering or related area.
- Demonstrable experience in Thermoelectric and ionic thermoelectric materials development.
- Expertise in lignin and its characterization.
- Demonstratable ability to publish in high impact journals.
- Knowledge of composite materials and lignin is a distinct advantage (specifically lignin nanocomposites)
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work and lead a team.
- Proven track record in proposal writing.

Salary Scale: €44,847 – €51,313 p.a. pro rata (maximum starting salary €44,847 p.a.pro rata)
