This is a four-day international training module aimed at youth representatives from municipal youth councils or similar bodies, particularly from those municipalities that have already sent participants to a Municipalities4Democracy programme.
Its aim is to promote youth participation in municipal decision-making and to develop local democracy. The course seeks to empower and inspire young people active at a local level to promote greater participation in decision-making, become agents of positive change within their participatory structures, and foster international cooperation.

Requirements:
- Be able to speak, read and write English at a basic level. It’s fine if you’re still learning, but you should be able to express yourself in an international group. The training will provide a safe space to use English.
- Be aged between 15 and 20,
- Have participated in or organised at least one participatory activity, project or initiative in your local community or school.
- You must have experience working with local authorities. It is sufficient to have at least one experience organising or participating in a community activity.
- So that you can speak on behalf of the young people in your community. We want you to understand your community, its challenges and its opportunities, and during the training course we will focus on the skills needed to do this.
- To be a good speaker, we believe a range of skills are important for a young person in this context. For example: researching, reading, collaborating, analysing, debating with others, listening, etc. Public speaking is just one of many skills. We will explore all of them through the training tasks throughout the week. If you are willing to try new things that may be outside your comfort zone, you will succeed.
