On February 9, the Spanish Ministry of Economic Affairs and Digital Transformation launched a tender to purchase more than 175,000 computers with connectivity for vulnerable students in Andalusia.
This action aims to facilitate digital education, both at home and on-site, for students from vulnerable families studying in publicly supported educational centers in this region.
The value of the tender amounts to 100 million euros, of which almost 80 million euros will be covered by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF). The ERDF aims to strengthen socio-economic cohesion within the European Union by correcting imbalances between its regions. Digitalization is one of its key priorities.
