The General Secretariat of the Council offers two 5-month paid traineeship periods in Brussels. The first runs from 16 February to 15 July, and the second from 1 September to 31 January. They are aimed at university graduates, disabled trainees and students from national schools of administration.
Eligibility
- Applicants must be citizens of a EU Member State.
- A good knowledge of English or French is required (at least level C1 according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages) and very good knowledge of at least two EU official languages
- Completed first cycle of higher education is necessary.
- No previous training (paid or unpaid) or employment for more than six weeks at an EU institution, body, agency or office
Benefits
- A monthly grant of €1,376.88 net.
- Two days of leave per month.
- €60 monthly allowance for use in Council’s restaurants.
- A travel allowance.

- EU nationals with a recognised disability.
- They must have a university degree or be at least a third-year student of a university/college.

Eligibility
- Students of national administration schools from EU Member States or candidate countries.
- Applications must be sent to the Traineeships Office by the candidates’ national administration school.
